The Central Jackson County Fire Protection District's new Honor Guard was officially formed this month, with approval from the CJCFPD Board of Directors to purchase dress uniforms for the members and special presentation equipment for parades and ceremonies. The Honor Guard members are being trained to march properly by Officer Reggie Taylor of the Blue Springs Police Department. Officer Taylor is a former Drill Sergant who served in the U.S. Army.
The Honor Guard will be available to present colors for area sporting events, ceremonies, parades, memorials, funerals, and other special events. The Honor Guard asks for a minimum of thirty (30) days notice when possible, so scheduling can be handled in a smooth manner. The membership has voluntarily committed themselves to the Guard. Many hours have been and will be spent practicing.
To request the CJC Honor Guard be present at your function, you may do so by calling the Fire District Headquarters at (816)229-2522.
